South Africa

Pilanesberg was our first stop in South Africa. We spent a few days in the National Park and saw countless animals and their babies. The reserve was populated by wild life that is native to Africa, after the land was recovered from human use. Some of the animals wouldn't have been there naturally, but they are able to thrive with the large area of protected land.

One day while we were at the park, a baboon broke into our room through the window. It helped itself to some sugar and powdered creamer and then knocked over the stack of books on top of my to-go container. To its surprise, the contents of the container were perishable and... how do I put this gently? The contents had perished. In shock and disgust, the monkey fled the scene of the crime before ransacking the rest of our room.
